
Andrew Gibney
Andrew Gibney is a qualified detective with Victoria Police, bringing over 13 years of dedicated and ethical service in law enforcement. He has specialised in investigative areas including financial fraud, child safety, counter terrorism/national security, sex offences and emergency management. His work has honed strong forensic skills in evidence-based analysis, critical decision-making, and managing complex investigations.
Beyond policing, Andrew is the Deputy Chair of the board of MSAU-MDVS, a not-for-profit providing 24/7 clinical health services, crisis accommodation, counselling, advocacy, and outreach to thousands of clients across north-western Victoria affected by domestic and sexual violence. In this role, he has overseen strategic direction, led the recruitment of a new CEO, driven a board refresh, and helped develop a five-year strategic plan. As Chair of the Facilities Development Committee, he is also guiding the organisation through a $25+ million capital works project to establish a new headquarters.
Andrew holds a Master of Business Administration (University of South Australia), a Graduate Certificate of Business (Curtin University), and is a graduate of the AICD Company Directors Course. He also served as a Lieutenant with the Australian Navy Cadets, leading professional standards, misconduct investigations, and child safety reforms.
