Code of Conduct

All staff must adhere to the Serenity Mode Code of Conduct

In providing support or services to people with disability and in aged care, all Serenity Mode staff and volunteers are required to comply with the Code of Conduct as set out below

  • Act with respect for individual rights to freedom of expression, self-determination, and decision-making in accordance with applicable laws and conventions.
  • Respect the privacy of people as per Serenity Mode policy.
  • Provide supports and services in a safe and competent manner, with care and skill.
  • Act with integrity, honesty, and transparency.
  • Promptly take steps to raise and act on concerns about matters that may impact the quality and safety of supports and services provided to people with disability and aged care.
  • Take all reasonable steps to prevent and respond to all forms of violence against, and exploitation, neglect, and abuse of, people with disability and aged care.
  • Take reasonable steps to avoid any conflict of interest (real or apparent) and disclose details of any material personal interest of the employee to Serenity Mode.
  • Take all reasonable steps to prevent and respond to sexual misconduct.

Serenity Mode staff and Volunteers must not:

  • Develop any relationships with clients that may be seen as favouritism to gain or seek to gain a benefit for the employee or volunteer.
  • Improperly use inside information or the employee duties, status or power.
  • Provide false or misleading information in response to a request for information that is made for official purposes in connection with your employment.

NOTE

Anyone can raise a complaint about potential breaches of the Code of Conduct. Should a client or other stakeholder wish to make a complaint about "SERENITY MODE" with respect to the Code of Conduct, they will be directed to SERENITY MODE’s feedback, compliments and complaints policy and procedure.

Should "SERENITY MODE", or people employed or otherwise engaged by "SERENITY MODE", be found to have breached the Code of Conduct, "SERENITY MODE" will comply with any education, compliance or enforcement action stipulated by the relevant agencies and by company policy.
