At Serenity Mode, safety comes first—for both our clients and our staff. We follow the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations 2017 and are committed to creating safe work environments, even when working in clients’ homes.

Our Commitment to Safety

We aim to:

  • Provide a safe workplace and safe work practices.
  • Train our staff to perform their roles safely and confidently.
  • Act quickly to remove or reduce unsafe conditions or risks.
  • Encourage staff to leave any situation that feels unsafe—your safety is our priority.
  • Notify participants (or their representatives) about any risks or hazards identified in or outside the home.
  • Withdraw services if serious safety issues are not resolved.

 

Home Safety Checks Include:

  • Working smoke alarms
  • Safe battery charging for electric wheelchairs and devices
  • Properly secured electrical outlets
  • Regularly maintained equipment and aids
  • Proper exit and entry points
  • Lockable storage if required

 

Ongoing Training & Resources

Our team regularly takes part in:

  • Manual handling training
  • Level 2 First Aid and CPR
  • Use of the Disability Services OHS Compliance Kit (WorkSafe Victoria)

 

Everyone Has a Role in Safety

Serenity Mode (the Organisation)

  • Identifies, assesses, and reduces risks in the workplace.
  • Consults with health and safety reps to improve practices.

  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Report hazards or unsafe conditions immediately.
